That really was a great story! You're a good writer too.. Not sure why, but both the story and the comments.. about made me cry.. like in the way of a movie with a really sweet ending.... even though yours didn't end the way you wanted it to... it sure impressed a lot of the adult ladies who read it (myself included)..

Very adorable story and so typical of teenage boys acting "cool" and making fools of themselves, while the girls "giggle" because they are amused. Truth be known, the girls were probably giggling because they were amused and attracted at the same time. Although, they'd seemingly rather go for the tough, abusive, "badboy." At least in the states, it's common. She either was too shallow to have her own mind or too shy to give you a chance. Either way, her loss!

That is a great story. Thanks for sharing it. Young lovers do awkward things to impress the object of their love. That is all part of growing up. We've all done something that was embarrassing.

Wonderful writing style. You pulled me through the experience with you. It was awful and wonderful all at once. So simple and pure and fleeting. She is forever embodied in your memory, beautiful and young; I am sure she would be honored if she knew...

Seems like it was a story you should have been telling your grand children. Wonder where that girl is today? Sounds like a pretty memorable moment to me. The first guy that actually fell for her. Romantic and kismit all in one. She would probably love the man you have become.

I agree with the ladies above. I think it is wonderful to express your vulnerability now, after it happened and also to put yourself out there so she would notice you in the first place. Yes, sadly it was her loss. She missed her golden opportunity to bend down, ask if you were ok, look into those eyes and ask did your foot hurt very badly? Put her arm around you, prop you up and help you hobble in to the school nurse for some attention. Girls sometimes do not see what is right under their noses... literally... She should have been more wise for an "older woman" lolol .. Puppy love .. so sweet .. so innocent. So full of blushing and happy memories... sigh ..

Thank you for sharing this experience. I wish someone would have like me enough to do that. So I think it was really cool--even if it didn't end well.

i'm not sure why ken sent me his story. i liked the picture of the person? ken perhaps? sitting on a cliff? looking across to the other side with the ocean? as a backdrop. i wonder if ken is from either england, ireland, australia, wales or scotland. the reason i wonder is because here in the u.s. i don't use the word trainer for sneakers but i know that's the term in england & ireland. well, for whatever reason ken sent me his story, thnx. m miller

I loved this post-- it encompasses so many actions of one who is smitten- and yet, human enough- to show your vulnerable side ( so many men would never share this, but have all gone thru it )

    hugs to you,

    xxoo

Well, if she wasn't impressed with the effort, then she probably wasn't worth any more of your time. She should have at least asked if you were okay.
