I See No Point...

In sitting at home and say this is what I believe in and doing nothing about it. I believe the only way for any kind of improvement is for people to do not just say.

The beauty of our democracy is that each group that believes their particular brand of religion is the best, can belong to that group, and practice their laws within their community. Also the laws of the land will not enforce that you belong to a group. And if you WANT on YOUR OWN to use some icon, word, song or prayer from a certain group as a way of portraying emotion you may do it anywhere without being thrown in jail.

The problems come when one of those groups decides that they want to go to war and make everybody pracrtice their laws.

I do not want to be forced to pray five times a day or to wear a head covering.

I do not want to be forced to not work on Saturday and to do batmitzva and barmitzva for my kids.

I do not want to be forced to wear special Mormon underwear and have my sons go two by two out into the world on bicycles to preach to the unsaved.

I do not want to be forced to burn candles and fiddle with rosary beads.

I do not want to be forced celebrate Darwinism.

I do not want.......

If I WANT to do anything, It is my right to choose.

Hail Freedom.

AND, we can not force freedom onto those who WANT TO REMAIN IN CAPTIVITY.
I agree. Although it is interesting to see that in both Rosa Parks and the bombers case, they believe they are doing right (arguably only one is suicidal about it)
Discussion, such as we have on this site, is helpful because it gives us the perspective we need to see that our snap judgements are not always as snappy as we think. Sometimes a new perspective can help, as can discussion and consideration. At the same time we need people to show us that the mainstream perspective isn't always so clear-cut through unusual and radical acts...I don’t really mind so long as they don’t hurt anyone.

I can see your point but remember had Rosa Parks not taken action, African-Americans would still be forced to sit at the back of the bus. I guess I failed to say that there needs to be a healthy medium to how far we take our fight.

Suicide bombers probably think that as well, hence their radical action.
