Morbid Curiosity?

i'm so glad to see that i'm not the only person out there who is fascinated with serial killers and the like.

each day i find myself watching court tv, discovery channel, discovery times, biography, etc.  i'm sure the vast majority of you reading this know what i'm talking about but for those of you who don't ... these channels profile serial killers, murderers, etc. all the time.

i think my s.o. is worried about me!  lol

forensics, psychology, psychiatry, M.O.'s, DNA, 'signatures', etc. it's all so interesting and i have an insatiable appetite for it.  it's amazing how far science and technology have taken us when it comes to this!

my 'lil' brother recently became a cop out of state.  sometimes it makes it difficult to watch these shows but it also helps me face the reality of my brother's life and what might affect our family today, tomorrow and as he advances in his career.  he is hoping to become an investigator one of these days.  it won't take him long considering his history of promotion thus far.

perhaps this morbid curiosity runs in the family, however, i'm not willing to give out speeding tickets and such in order to become an investigator.  i'm not a fan of the moving violation fines (beat cop = rookie usually) and thus i don't belive i'd particularly care to hand them out to others.

in the mean time, until i figure out what i can do from home in regard to this, i'm just going to continue watching, reading, and studying in order to feed my morbid curiosities.

I share your fascination. I've always been amazed at how people can perpetrate such horror and live with themselves. Two nights ago I watched a documentary on two guys that got together and murdered 7 people in a fast food restaurant. Not only was it fascinating to find two people both willing to participate in such a heinous act but even wilder was the fact that they had absolutely no reason to do it and afterwards, lived normal lives for 9 years before finally being arrested.

I don't think it's morbid at all! Human nature; however, I do. =)

cool. I watch Nancy Grace sometimes, American Justice.
