At the time i was unemployed after being let go from a company i had worked with for over 18 years, the prospect of becoming a teacher was appealing. I signed a loan to pay for a teaching credential. Successfully completed my credential and began my search for a position as the economy and teaching jobs dried up.
Have not been successful in finding consistent full time employment.
My loan, now in default, is not $50,000, am 65 years old and don't ever expect to be able to pay off the loan.
The loan and the interest is killing me and i do suspect will kill me in the end. Any money i do earn, half goes to pay the loan off ... the interest accumulates faster than i am able to pay.

    My response would be...

A bank loan to pay an FHA mortage.

Not a bad thing but still heavy baggage!

I dont have good credit and I had no one to borrow from. I was so desperate I started to pawn my things. Then I did desperate researchIn order to find out how to make money. I almost tried cam modeling but I chickened out. Thats when I joined this amazing page. It helped me deal with how lost I was. I tried researching again and came accross a program where I now make 1500 a day if I work at it for a couple of hours. I dictate my schedule. If you want to know about it please feel free to contact me.

I met up with a fella on March 7th, 2010 on a dating site (paid for a 3 month membership). I ended up with a 'Narcissist' but I didn't know what that was at the time. I didn't even know what to call what he was about except for the fact he kept belittling me about odd little things. He kept running out of money and waiting to get paid since he was Self-Employed. Not much Concrete work to do during the winter - DUH !!! We had less than 6 months of seeing each other and it ended up taking me two years to pay off the money that I lent to him. I had even bought an old motorcycle in Washington State (no insurance required and he signed the Title too) and he sold it for $900.00 to pay his bills. He sold the new helmet for $65.00 - I had my original shorty helmet. Total cost was just about $5,000.00. I just paid it off at the end of this October (2012). He doesn't feel that he owes me any money for his bills - all the bills that I paid to keep him from losing everything. If this helps just one person to pay attention to 'RED FLAGS' and 'Gut feelings' - it will be worth it. I wouldn't wish that kind of person on anyone. He will no longer speak to me either - even on Skype. Still getting over it - it takes time ... "?" ...

im constantly borrowing - my accounting skills are atrocious. none existent even. worry about it later attitude, but if i was earnimg a bit more - not too much more- than i am presently, i'd be ok. And for the main part ima ina positon to do just that, as im basically self-employed and am not totally run off my feeet at the mo.

I guess for me its a bit easier I live in Botswana (Africa) here if you have a solid job and steady income no matter how small it is you are eligible for a building loan or a homeloan and land is mostly free or next to free. we just pay taxes on it the main thing though is the wait is rather long (5 - 20 years). but most people would just buy plots off those that do not want them or cannot afford to build on them. which is a bit pricier but if you can an all inclusive loan you can get both easily. I am a single mother of 1. I had my daughter at 17 and had to rely on my folks a lot for help especially since I had to come to the USA for college. I know in the USA that can be a challenge I lived there for 8 years and couldn't afford much though I had 2 incomes from my night job and academic allowances from my government which were not shabby at all considering I was not paying tax this was prepaid for by my government. Quality of life in the USA is not as rosey as most people make out in comparison to the top 3rd that is rich. This is why I elected to come back home fast rather than stay in the USA. Much as I love the easy access of most commodities, the promise of glitz and glamour etc I would rather be back here its not as hard to try and make it here as long as you put in the time you are good.
