Wrapped Up In My Work

There are times when I get wrapped up in my work and forget to eat. I will finish with one person, start on my notes, return phone calls, visit patients, talk with other doctors, go to the lab to check on research and before you know it, time has flown by. I would find myself getting wiggy from not eating. I've gotten better about it and my sweetie sends me reminder texts throughout the day, plus I pack some nuts in a little baggie and have them in my lab coat so I can munch on a few if I am walking from one end of the hospital campus to the other. I hate coming home starved then I'll make poor choices and eat everything in sight.

Food for thought doesn't often equal real food.
EAT man EAT.

If I ate like a man, I'd be as big as a house.

Me too. i carefully eat and exercise every day for an hour. I am at 21 BMI and holding. I am 55 and stay out of the sun.

I do the same thing when I'm writing on deadline. I'll get so involved in the interview and time will pass so when it is over, I will feel a little light headed but I want to get everything wrapped up so I will immediately go to the office and start downloading the photographs and editing them and before I know it, it is late in the day, I've got a severe headache and my stomach is making loud noises. I try to carry a banana or some other piece of fruit with me so I can eat that as I'm driving back to the office.

i do get wrapped on in my work too,..i do tell myself this "Daniel take it easy you've done your best its time to eat"........
you just got to take it easy ma...i can sense the passion you have for your work..which is good..every patient who have you as their doctor are lucky ma...

I used to never forget a meal, but once I got back into school and studying hours upon hours, I found that I had skipped a few. Not good.

If I am going to spend the time to pack you a lunch, you could at least find the time to eat it.
