Ick :>

Bleh, so about 5-6 years ago I learned a breathing technique called Buteyko that turned my life around. (www.buteykobreathing.org if you are interested) - anyway, after I came off some pretty heavy doses of asthma steroids I got a sore throat and it was painful to swallow.

As an ex-asthmatic I was used to sore-throats, but this was different. It wasn't going away and after a while I noticed this little white lump on one side of my throat. I poked it with a toothbrush and then stuck my finger around and had a feel around.

I've made myself vomit more than a few times (i live in the UK so have been drinking since age 16) so my gag reflex isn't too drastic. Anyway, a huge spongy white lump came out, I gagged and coughed it into the sink. My heart was pounding and I stood there blinking tears from my eyes. I was pretty scared and freaked out. It was utterly disgusting.

I went to the doctor the next day. He was about 50 and he said that although he had heard of these, he had never seen one or had anyone visit him before about it.

I guess we are rarer than we think :O
