Peanut Butter On Pancakes!

Last weekend was a great weekend as my daughter and I made once again an attempt to find a friend that we had lost contact with when we left California for the south.

The internet is a blessing, I am sure many of you can relate.

We started early in the morning hoping to gain some insight as we only had her new husband's last name not first name.   My friend's name is very common so this was difficult ... we finally narrowed it down to a given area in North California.

Thank goodness for cell phone plans...a wonderful gadget invented , my daughter decided to make a few calls as she had a long list.

She dialed her first number and a woman answered, my daughter said, My name is ____ and it used to be this____ and  I like peanut butter  on pancakes. "Do you know me?" To which she heard the woman on the other end scream!!! WE WERE JUST TALKING ABOUT YOUR MOM AND WISHED I COULD FIND HER!!!  Of course I know you!!

What a thrill that was for my daughter as this woman babysat her when she was little and used to make her pancakes and she put peanutbutter on her pancakes to which my daughter learned to love and pass it on to her kids too!

I don't know how many times we have sat down and tried to find my friend... how many phone calls we made. But this time it worked!!

I have spent the whole weekend either on the phone or writing emails back and forth trying to catch up on the last 14 yrs with my friend, We are planning a reunion for the near future.

Apparently she has been looking for us and we them.

To all of you out there that have lost contact over the years, don't give up! I am glad we didn't. So is my friend!
