I've Always Stayed Up Late

When I was very young, I can remember lying in bed at night, staring at the illuminated dial of the clock in my room, and holding my breath as long as I could, just too pass the time. I got so good that I could hold my breath for two and a half minutes or more. When I was a teen, I stayed up and watched all the late night TV shows that were on before cable. I remember watching Tom Snyder, and The Midnight Special, and old 40s movies that didn't make sense to me.  We got Cable TV when I was in the 9th grade, and then I had more useless stuff to watch, all night long. In my later teens, I would often stay up all night long reading a book, and then have to go to school in the morning with no sleep because of it. Any more, I can't sleep much more than six hours at the most. I can get by for a long time on four hours of sleep a night. If I go to bed early, I lay there and think, so I just have to wait until I'm tired, and then go to sleep.
