You're Weird!

I get told this a lot.

Maybe it's my feet, which are always bare, year-round, everywhere, or maybe the fact that my toenails are painted in many different colors.

It might be my long hair and/or sideburns.

Maybe it's the clothes I wear (or don't wear).

It could be my nudism and/or driving naked.

Perhaps it's my bisexuality.

Could it be due to my not wanting to get drunk or stoned as I don't enjoy doing those things?

Who knows? Like the others in this group, I long ago stopped worrying about what others think or say about me. Nor can I say that I march to the beat of a different drummer because I don't march at all, and certainly don't hear any drums. Instead, I just "do my thing" as they said in my younger days.

And if you want to "do your thing" with me, that's even better.

The most important thing is, Be yourself! Don't be what "they" want you to be!

another old ex<x>pression comes to mind: "why be normal?" (whatever that is supposed to be.)

I applaud this story so much! You hit the nail right on the head. I feel the same way myself -- I'm just me, take it or leave it, 'cause I accept myself for who I am. Life's too short to try keeping up the the Joneses, or whatever other euphemisms you'd like to use. And, like, aren't we all weird for some reason? Who knows. Cheers on sticking to your guns.
