From my experience living in Cali and WA state, the Target stores I have gone barefoot into (25 stores total in CA, HI, and WA) are barefoot friendly. I have been stopped by security a handful of times (twice in the new Honolulu store) but that doesn't stop me from barefooting into Target. I love Target, it's my favorite store. I rarely shop anywhere else. I buy my groceries, clothes, health aids, and other house items at Target while I'm barefoot. I can't remember the last time I wore shoes to Target. I love when people stare at my feet. I make it a point to walk the main aisles to show off my barefeet.

I live in South Florida and even down here you have to scope out places to make sure that it's ok to go inside barefoot. I've been inside Subways, Walgreens and one time Target. So far, I haven't had any problems. CVS Pharmacy and our local supermarket Publix have their "No Barefeet" policy outside their doors. I know that Pier 1 Imports frowns upon barefeet and I heard stories that Walmart does also. But whenever I go barefoot to the park or around my neighborhood, it's never a problem.

I know what you are talking about. I just look for places, trial and error, that don't mind me being barefoot. Then I go there often. I would like to move to a more friendly barefoot location. Possibly florida or Hawaii. I think that would eliminate a lot of the problems.

I live in Ohio so kinda of a similar circumstance. I always gotta bring flip flops with me. Big stores will not let you and the only restaurants I've had luck with are fast food ones at a non busy time of the day. I do have some places I've found I can go with little trouble. Independt music stores are usually really cool about it.
