It Was An Accident Only Partially My Fault, In That I Should Have Got My Own Damn Pills

So I am a young guy, but I recently have gotten a herniated disc in my mid-back. If you don't know what it is, look it up for more details, but basically it is a serious problem. from this website, this is what it is.http://orthopedics.about.com/cs/herniateddisk/a/ruptureddisk.htm

What happens with a 'herniated disc'?

As the spinal disc becomes less elastic, it can rupture. When the disc ruptures, a portion of the spinal disc pushes outside its normal boundary--this is called a herniated disc. When a herniated disc bulges out from between the vertebrae, the spinal nerves and spinal cord can become pinched. There is normally a little extra space around the spinal cord and spinal nerves, but if enough of the herniated disc is pushed out of place, then these structures may be compressed

so whatever, but basically I was in a lot of pain and I asked my dad to get my pills, Valium, Ibuprofen for inflamation but it isn't strong enough for the pain, so I have two different strengths of Vicodin. How Vicodin works is it is proscribed in a pill for mixture of Hydrocodone (the opiate) with acetaminophen in different strengths but how mine are 5mg/325mg (this means 5mg of hydrocodone and 325mg of acetaminophen) and a stronger dose pill for real bad times of 7.5/750 (same as above) So I had a rough day, first day back to work/school (i'm a grad student) and even though I took it easy I was on my feet and moving around a lot. So I was at my parents in the recliner cause that helps. I should have asked my dad for the bottles and got it myself. the script is take 1 to 2 pills every 4 to six hours for as needed and my doc told me I can mix the 5/325 and 7.5/750 if I was less than 15 mg of hydrocodone but more than 10mg for my higher doses when needed, I hadn't taken any in 10 house, since the morning. So I asked him to get me an Ibuprofen for the inflamation, I wanted two 5/325 for a 10mg hydrocodone (the opiate), a 5mg valium to stop the muscle spasms, and to throw in one last thing, I have a sinus infection and am on amoxicillin and Claritin.

So a recap

I want 2 vicodin, 1 ibuprofen, 1 valium, 1 amoxicillin, and 1 claritin.

I take them without hesitation, they all look almost identical, big white pills and little white pills.

45 min later I feel funky, euphoria like crazy, big time in my body and hazy in my head. forgetful, tired, slow, feeling great.

So after 3 hours, the "high" wears off and its just normal pain relief. So I get u, because now I can. My dad had left the bottles out of my bag on the counter.... one bottle was missing, the Ibuprofen was still in my baf, the 5/325 and the 7.5/750 are on the counter along with the other cocktail of narcotics and various drugs they are pumping into me.

So I have figured out what he did, I think. I think he gave me two 7.5/750 and a 5/325 instead of the two 5/325 and an ibuprophen. double the hydrocodone than I expected, so a lot. I think it was this combination because I have had two 7.5/750's before at 15mg of hydrocodone and although it makes me a drooling idiot, I don't get what I would call high, so if it were a combo of one 7.5 and two 5mg, that 17.5mg, which I wouldn't think would be such a drastic change in my level of ****** upness

So I learned a lesson, well two lessons, get my own damn pills and that opiate highs arn't that "fun" I mean it feels great but sitting on a recliner not being able to watch TV because my eyes are so dialated and are hurting from the rush of blood to them.

( I actually already knew what strong doses of opiates  is like because of my previous hospital visit earlier this week when they gave me two doses of morphine and it didn't help with pain but rather made me nauseas and took me up and down. then when that didn't help at all they gave me dilaudid (about 10 times stronger that morphine), and let me tell you it helped with the pain (oddly, not all the way though, it still hurt, just about half as much and helped with my severe spasms) but it was not a fun ride. Imagine the feeling of falling but looking up to the ceiling (i was in a hospital bed) and seeing it move closer too you and extreme confusion, rambling, nausea. Although today felt great, I wouldn' t do it again, too much risk for problems and it didn't last long and it was overall not worth it for the whole very addictive opiate thing. The dilaudid and morphine will be refused unless I was in extreme pain again. you wouldn't believe how easily they will give you morphine in a hospital (I mean as long as you aren't just looking for a high and have a real problem, I have turned it down for other things before that were serious but I just don't like morphine.

So this turned out way longer than I thought, but yeah, I got high today on prescription drugs, and not on purpose.
