I Got Into A Fight With My Best Friend

Boyfriend Vs Best Friend

I have been seeing this guy, Lucas, on and off for over a year. My best friend, Whitney, doesn't approve of him because they have past history. During Lucas' and I's off times, Whit and I would get really close. Now that Lucas and I are a thing again, I have to explain to her that I can't fool around like we used too.

She is very upset about that because she claims me as "her's". I tried telling that I'm not because I am with Lucas and she told me "You're dead to me now."

How am I supposed to take that? I'm not sure what to do. Any advice would be wonderful.

    oh man, i feel for you.that happened to me once with my BFFL and she said that to me. i just walked away and the next day, i looked at her and she turned. what you have to do is slowley make your way back to her. everyday, smile and wave, if she ignores you thats ok, let it slide. if she never gives in you have to choose... LUCAS OR WHITNEY...whats it gonna be? hope i kinda helped.

    It's really sad that she can't be more understanding of the situation... to me, past history should be PAST. But in any case, you can't change how she feels and thinks... Although it sucks and it makes no sense, it looks like you have to choose. Do you really want a friend who is putting you in this situation? Is the guy really worth it? I am always inclined to think girlfriends are more important, but every situation is different.

    Well, the "off" times are due to his commitment issues. But I will take your suggestion. It's just hard to overlook the fact that she hates him because of past history.

    Try looking at it from her point of view. Sounds to me like you are dating a creep (because I am guessing these"off" times happen every now and then), and your friend is trying to help
