What Do You Think.

My name is Lindsey. I am a stay at home mom. My son is 35 months. He is totally out of control. I didnt really start discipline him till after he tirned two. Im very close with my family but they let him get away with things I don't and get in trouble for things I let him do. When I try to say anything about they say its pur house which is true but its confusssing him. My husband I are trying for a second chid how old should the child be when I start to discipline him/her. Advice welcome.

You have an interesting question. "My husband I are trying for a second chid how old should the child be when I start to discipline him/her."

What do you mean by discipline? True discipline starts at birth. You guide your child's behavior through appropriate means from birth to adulthood and beyond.

If by discipline you really mean punishment (spanking) you first have to make sure your child already knows that the behavior you don't like is wrong. Never punish for something the child didn't know was wrong. Start with small steps - a sharp "NO!" followed up with a pop to his backside will go a long way.

If u do start spanking,I would lay his back on my knees like u r changing his diaper only pull his legs up in the air and spank him as hard as u can maby use a spoon if u want

Consistency is key, especially at that age...believe me, I work as a professional caregiver for older twos. You all need to be on the same page...it may be their house, but it is your child. It can be confusing to a child
