I'll Wear Shoe's Next Time...

Just this morning I was on the beach watching my dad and brother playing past the breakers. I'm pretty skiddish when it comes to getting in the water because I can't see and i hate stepping on seaweed and other little fish that come close enough to the shore. After a minute of hesitation, I decided to go play with my family. I was almost up to my knees when I felt a really sharp stab in my foot that really hurt. I quickly ran back to the shore and limped back to the umbrella, and by that time my foot was really bleeding. I thought that maybe I had stepped in a crab or seashell and just cut myself. I stopped the bleeding and put a bandaid on, and sat down to just chill for a minute. Then my leg started to really ache, enough to make me hobble back to the beach house. I sat down on the couch and tried to ignore the pain, but soon I was hysterically crying from the pain. It was about 45 minutes until my dad came back to the beach house and decided I needed to see a doctor. So he packed me up in the car and drove about 30 minutes to the nearest emergency room. After about 20 minutes of agony there, mom called and said she had called an urgent care center and they told her that there was nothing that could be done except to soak it in hot water. So we drove another 30 minutes back and I am currently sitting with my foot soaking in water. I was surprised that immediately after I put my foot in the water the pain subsided. I guess because it was such a small sting, it looks kind of like a bug bite, but immediately after I take my foot out of the water, the pain is back. I hope it doesn't last too long.
