Trying to Make a Dollar Out of Fifteen Cents.

We were poor. We were very poor. It bothered me a lot but I never complained. My granny raised me and I didn't want to hurt her by complaining. I remember clear as day my granny at the checkout lane at the grocery store. She was paying for items and the look on her face made my heart sink. She looked worried. I knew money was scarce. I didn't want to hurt my granny's feelings by complaining. I was teased often at school becasue of the clothes I wore. It bothered me but I just kept it all inside.
