Numbness After Surgery

I had a Gamma Knife procedure performed 6 months ago for Trigeminal Neuralgia. I still have the pain which feel like a toothache especially at night. Now six months after the procedure the left side of my face feels like I have had novocaine and my tongue and lips feels like they have been burnt. I get a sharp pain in my left temple and the numbness radiates over the entire left side of my face even up under my eye and my nose. Has anyone had a similar experience since the procedure? It is very depressing.

I had Gamma Knife last December and still had pain although it is getting better each month. But the numbness started about a month ago on the right side of my face. It is exactly as you describe. My face feels like I've been to the dentist but just not swollen and my tongue and lips and right side of inside my mouth (gums) feel burnt and raw. Foods that I have always loved seem to really irritate my mouth like balsamic vinegar. From time to time my lips or nose will tingle... sometimes like a really quick tingle. It's very strange. Have you been back to see the doctor?
