Love Doctor

For our first valentine's day as a married couple my wife and I were doing what we do...we were working.

I was working in the Children's hospital on a medical floor and the night before Valentine's day I had to work overnight. This meant getting home at around 10:30 am. My wife was working in her veterinary hospital overnight on Valentine's day itself. This meant that she worked from 9am until midnight and then was able to come home, unless she had an emergency that kept or there or got her called in.

I had a rough night and did not get a wink of sleep. She had a heavy schedule set up until 8pm, afterwhich who knew what emergencies would come in. We had planned on going to dinner later in the week but of course I did not listen. I got home and slept for a few hours and then cooked.

There was lake effect snow on the way to her work, five inches on the highway but I got thru it. When I got to her work, there was no snow falling there, of course. I brought her a home cooked dinner and flowers that we shared at her work. Luckily we had time. It was a great dinner and a good time. Just fine enough for us to spend the evening together. We both felt wonderful to be able to make the most of our time.
