Seamless Dreaming

I had a really cool lucid dream last night.  I dreamt that I was in a Claire’s-type store turned art exhibit and I was looking at these earrings and necklaces that embodied funny evil.  They looked like shrunken heads with long multi-colored hair and other tribal-looking markings.  Two midlife housewives were laughing about George W. as we were looking at them, in a strained pained way, their example of funny evil.

I became lucid when I saw one necklace in particular.

It was the body of a 1950’s Barbie doll made of light purple stone with black scratches, with a small poof of black hair.  When I saw it, I knew I wanted to make it, but my real goal was to make a dress and/or outfit that could be worn with it.  I immediately started making plans for people I would talk to to make this happen when I woke up (seeing as I know nothing about making dresses and my former roommate knows everything).

I started making plans and designs when I decided that I’d rather wake-up and get my ideas on paper before I forgot what I was doing, which is when the cool part came.  In my dream I walked back over to the display where the necklace was and got one last look at the necklace, then I woke myself up.

Usually I find it impossible to wake myself up.  I get stuck in that horrible loop where I dream that I’m waking up over and over again.  I swear I have these lucid dreams and I decide that I want to wake up, but I’m too tired to summon the energy, so I dream that I wake up some 50 times in a row.

But this time, it went so smoothly.  I went seamlessly from dream to wake, rolled over and started writing things down.

You are advancing ;) That is why you could do it this time but not before.
