I Had a Sigmoidoscopy
Reading these stories here really surprised me, so I'm chiming in. I had a sigmoidoscopy yesterday, and it wasn't so bad. Yeah, it was somewhat painful/awkward, but what do you expect? I didn't even know that sedation was an option, but it seems silly to risk the side effects of sedatives for only a few minutes of discomfort. During the procedure I probably clenched my teeth a little, and my toes were squirming, but then it was over. Probably even less than five minutes for me. So anyways people shouldn't be terrified by the stories here--it probably wasn't much worse than getting a cavity filled.
