When Will My Body Starting Feeling Back To Normal

I had a surgical abortion on June 4, 2011 at 11 weeks, 2 days pregnancy. I'm not feeling much discomfort except breast tenderness and lower back pain right now. I am just wondering how long it will be before my body is back to normal. I am also nervous that I will lactate, as I've heard that can happen. Does anyone have any advice or experience on when my breasts will feel normal again? I also hope that as my body adjusts and reduces to non-pregnant size in my hips, etc. that my back will stop hurting. Anyone have good pain management tips? Thank you! I am really looking forward to exercising and taking bubble baths again to feel better.

Just wanted to share that I am feeling almost 100% back to normal now. Breast pain and swelling finally went away after one week. Otherwise, I am in good shape and surprised by the speed and ease of my recovery! Thank you for the encouraging words and for sharing your stories. Still looking forward to the check-up appointment to make sure everything is truly normal.

I had my procedure a day before yours and I was the same length into the pregnancy as you were (maybe off or ahead by a day). As far as I can tell, all of my symptoms have ceased and I'm feeling more like myself by the day. I guess it just varies from person to person. I've been eating much less, I'm motivated to do more and my recovery makes me wonder 'what recovery'?
Just double checking if you know not to take baths right now and just showers, my doctor said baths can cause infection so I've just been following most of the precautions by the book aside from the ones I know I can disregard without any severe consequence.

What a relief to hear from someone in almost exactly the same position, right down to the day! I am glad to hear you are back to "normal." I am also wondering, "what recovery?" though I'm still nervous that something will happen that hasn't started yet. Very little bleeding, and my appetite has diminished as well. My breasts are slowly starting to return to normal, but still slightly sore. That's my only gripe today. I hope we are both in the clear. No baths for me yet, but I can't wait for the 3 weeks to be over so I can take a nice bubble bath!

O I can't wait to exercise! I've never wanted to go the gym so badly in my life! Thank you for your comments, ladies. So are people who were less far along in pregnancy able to bounce back in a matter of days? It's only been 4-5 days for me since the procedure, and I'm doing pretty well, but still looking forward to feeling 100% physically normal. Thank you again for sharing!

My heart is with you. I have heard the same thing that "HardChoice" has been told. However I was only at 5 weeks. Just make sure you go to the doctor for a checkup. Don't sleep on it. IT is HIGHLY important you do so.
Thank you for sharing! Not feeling too much tiredness, but definitely the breast tenderness and bad breakouts! I have a follow up scheduled for the end of the month at my local doctor's office, rather than at the clinic out-of-town where I had the surgical procedure. I hope they will do an ultrasound just to make sure everything's as it should be. Thank you again for sharing; I hope my symptoms will taper off soon.

They say your pregnancy symptoms can last up to 6 weeks after your abortion. Mine did. I went in for an IUD placement 3 weeks after my abortion and I couldn't get it in because my HCG levels were showing I was pregnant. I experienced breast tenderness, tiredness, and I broke out bad too.
I don't know your story but just be cautious. If you are feeling you are still having alot of pregnancy symptoms go back for a check up. Have them do an ultra sound on you to make sure the procedure was done right and you are in the clear.
