I Had Gastric Bypass
Well, I think I have come to the decision to get Gastric Bypass.
How did I come to that decision?
Well, recently I just started a new job. I am a manager at Fashion Bug. I have only been there 2 weeks so far, and I have met 2 different women who have come in because they have got the surgery. The first lady, I didn't even really ask about it. She basically told me she had it, how wonderful she felt, she lost 60 pounds, blah blah blah. While I stood there cashing her out all I could think is "She's only ranting and raving about this because I'm so big." I know that may not be it, but it felt like a jab into my side.
Then I had another girl come in, she was more discrete about it. She was so excited that we had bra's on sale because she was in the process of losing weight from getting the surgery. She Had lost 100 pounds so far, and it had only been 6 months. WOW, she looked great already.
Well, yesterday I was getting ready to go over to the boyfriends house to sleep over since I had a baby shower to go to today. I was looking for my new favorite pair of jeans, a size 18 'dreamer' jeans from Old Navy. Well, my mom found them and was holding them up for me to take. At first glance of this I am mortified. My jeans are two times as big as my mom. So she hands them to me, as my eyes start to water up I manage to say to my mom "I think maybe I should get Gastric Bypass." Her eyes lit up "You would qualify you know." Then she continued on with naming everybody she knows, who have gotten it. Ok cool. So for an hour before I go to the boyfriends house I research it online, continued doing so today.
I just have no idea how to go about this.
I'm reading it takes about 4-6 weeks to recover. Well, what about my job? I literally just started, even though it probably wont be for awhile will they let me take that much time off? Do I quit and worry about finding a new job after? How do I let my boyfriend know about this choice? Should I tell my family(I have a large close family)? I am also planning on quitting smoking before hand.
