I had ACL reconstruction nine months ago, and I also had a menicus repair. I am just now starting to feel like my knee is strong. The PT helped me a lot. You should consider seeing another PT. I was just able to take the brace off except when I exercise this month. It is a slow, long recovery. Be patient. You will get there, but it takes time. That is the difficult part of it. I got depressed by the fact that I could not do the exercise I used to do (cardio kick boxing) and probably never will do that again. I have gained weight because of less activity and some depression. Now that my knee is starting to feel normal again, It is like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. You will get there. Just be patient and take it one day at a time. Good Luck.

What kind of surgery did you have? I had outpatient knee surgery last year and after lots of p.t. I am starting to feel almost normal. Maybe you need to try a different therapist? Or talk to your doc and see what they say?
