Hi I've just had this surgery myself at age 17. I am considering starting a blog for people to gain advice from and was wondering if you could email me on the email I've set up to put some advice together with me? Myminora@hotmail.co.uk
Anyone seeing this that is interested I'd really appreciate it and it will be anonymous if you wish. Please get in touch x

I am a lecturer and film-maker in the North East of England making an animated documentary about the subject of labiaplasty.

Funded by the Wellcome Trust and partnered with leading clinicians at University College London Hospitals, we have been conducting extensive research into the procedure.

If you are in the UK and have had or thought about labia surgery - we would love to ask you some questions as part of our research.

The aim of the film is to use the medium of animation to present woman's real thoughts and experiences combined with medical information about the labiaplasty surgery. We feel that this will create a film that will be useful for womans health education worldwide.

Please note that all correspondence is in confidence ofcourse. The director, Ellie Land is an experienced documentary film maker and understands that this is a sensitive subject.
If you are interested in sharing your story with us then please get in touch by sending a message on this site.
Thank you so much and I look forward to hearing from you..
ha ha ive just noticed the dates these were posted - so im sure u are fine now!

hi i promise u it will improve. im now 3 weeks post op - i was v lucky in that i only needed 1 painkiller. my advice to u is pain killers every 2 hours - alternate ibuprofen with paracetamol, ice the area for 20 mins on 20 mins off. everytime u wee pour warm salty water over the area. let the air get to it as much as possible and lie down as much as poss. xx

I had my labiaplasty 6 days ago and the swelling/pain is getting worse and worse. I've been told I dont seem to have an infection and that it's just swelling, but i'm not too sure. What was the outcome of your experience? Do you have any advice?

If it gets worse, you NEED to tell your doc. Don't wait till it gets worse and worse. It may be a sign of infection. Or it could just be the way your body is healing. I hope you feel better.
