I was similarly sick for 3 years. Had gallbladder removed in September. Still in terrible pain and was diagnosed with H Pylori. The cure was two antibiotics, plus omeprazole and pepto bismol. I can't encourage you enough to get a second opinion. I can't imagine living with this another day. Doctor I saw said I was "cured" but I recently saw a new gastroenterologist--what a weird bunch they are--and he said a blood test was not that accurate for diagnosing H pylori--a biopsy is. So he will do a biopsy when he does an endoscopy a month from now. The H pylori does not feel gone. I am back up to two omeprazole a day--plus tagamet and simethacone pills, Also sodium bromide. I now have the pain down to a dull roar. I was told the H pylori had been brewing for awhile so my stomach still has to rebuild the lining. And at this point I don't know who to trust. So--painful--stupid doctors that came up with wild diagnoses like asthma and pulled chest muscles. Even crazier GI docs. And I never had stomach problems before. You definitely should get a second opinion. The diarrhea could even be caused by the H pylori. Nasty, terrible bug..I'm also taking every pro-biotic under the sun. I guess I would recommend Align and Ultimate Flora 50 billion.

I had H Pylori dx in sept 05, my GB out Dec of the same yr. My daughter who was 8 at the time tested neg to H pylori so drs. would not treat her. But thru my research I found out a lot of children test false negative. Thank god 3rd or 4th dr had mercy on her and treated her anyway and all her symptoms went away :).
my own post GB removal symptoms have been some intermitent diarreah and bloating, lately though I suplement with the amino acid Taurine and it is doing wonders for me in that respect, also testing L-Phenylalanine and find it extremely helpful with digestion, and mood lifter, I also eat a breakfast of "Cascade" Yogurt and lost of fruit and do my best to stay away from frieds due to many reasons. Gather some strength and fight for your life(quality), get second opinions, go out of the country or whatever you have to do, life with HP is a lousy way to live :)

It will always be that way. Had mine out in 1986. Plus did have cancer radiation treatments in 1979, which ruined my intestines. My G.I. told me that the only thing I can do is take the narcotics.

Vicodin, when I have to go somewhere. ( he says narcotics is a constipator).

Every morning, I have 3 - 4 hours of running to the bathroom. That's a life time issue.

Embarrassing when you stay overnight at a friends!

I have found out that if I eat a couple slices of cheese before leaving the house, I'm fine for the day.

Perhaps eating out . . . like pizza or anythng with cheese will help tremendously.

I would rather have the constipation than the "sweat fear" trying to get to the bathroom only to find that it's being cleaned or someone is in it!
