I had spinal fusion surgery July 19 2012 and I have never gone a day without pain since then. I was on morphine for a two months after and then they wouldn't let me take it anymore but I couldn't handle the pain so I started smoking marijuana thinking it would help and it did and I became so reliant on it and I became mentally addicted to it. I became really depressed and was admitted to a psych institution where I had to sign a 3 month stipulation to get released so I was forced to stop my addiction without any help and it was the absolute hardest thing I ever had to do in my life. After being released I was admitted 3 more times within 4 months. I hate to say my spinal fusion surgery caused this but to be honest I had no interest in smoking marijuana until I experienced the pain of the surgery. It's been two years and I have been clean of marijuana for almost 1 year all by the grace of God. I would have not ever had the strength to give up marijuana if it weren't for my salvation. I still am in a lot of pain and my physical therapist says she can't do anything for me anymore and that it is a nerve issue. Do anyone else have this problem? If so what do you do to get through the pain?

Please join our support group on facebook. Its called Spinal Cord Injuries, Surgeries & Diseases Support Group. Just go to fb search and enter that eaxactly and it will pop up. There are several groups but we are a new group and need folks who have experience with spinal problems. Thanks

have you considered getting a spinal stimulator? I'm about to get one myself. I will never get another epidural for as long as I live. They're not FDA approved and if the doctor punctures your spinal cord, you'll get what's called arachnoiditis. It is so painful people commit suicide. And they're are no treatments.

HAD SPINAL FUSION 7 MONTHS AGO AND AM STILL IN ALOT OF PAIN. WILL IT EVER GO AWAY?

I also had a spinal fusion 7 months ago, I am still in pain. I take 4 lyrica (150 mg each) . I have had severe pain in my left leg thigh area. Has anyone experienced this

HI, THANKS FOR YOUR POST. YES I HAVE PAIN DOWN MY LEFT LEG AND THIGH AREA. IN PAIN ALL THE TIME EXCEPT WHEN I SIT OR LIE DOWN. TRY NOT TO TAKE PAIN PILLS ONLY WHEN I REALLY HAVE TO. DR SAYS GIVE IT TIME. HOW MUCH TIME? WISH I HAD NEVER HAD THIS DONE. EVERY MORNING I GIVE UP WITH THE HOPE THAT THERE WILL BE NO PAIN, BUT YEP IT'S THERE.
