It Was Awful!

I was in nursing school  in my late 20's and my godson contracted the illness and subsequently exposed me to the virus. I thought I had been exposed during childhood and maybe had gotten off with a mild case or something, but I was wrong. The fever was the worst I've ever experienced. The lesions were uncomfortable but just bothersome. I almost flunked out of that quarter of classes had it not been for an instructor that gave me some work to do at home and a make-up clinical day after I was once again allowed to go into the hospital. Now hopefully I will not develop the Shingles which is where the dormant virus reactivates along a nerve pathway. That is very painful.
