I Hate Animal Cruelty

We hate animal cruelty as you do. There are many ways that animals are put in jeopardy. Here is one...we have a lovely four year old Doberman on our farm who can't keep his food down because he is the victim of poor breading. Apparently as breeders sought certain height and shape amd who knows what, they messed up the breeds ability to properly digest food.
Our son bought Bruce as a puppy, he is a sweet and loving pet, but the poor guy is suffering this winter and we can't get his weight up. We are worried and eager to find a remedy if anyone has experience.
All of our other dogs on the farm are "rescues" who were abandoned in a nearby park. We decided to take Bruce in rather than see him restricted to a college apartment.
We are seeing first hand the results of stupid breeding practices in search of some sort of ideal confirmation. The animals suffer.

    Our three year old Doberman has the same problem, would vomit up most of his food. We also feed him twice a day. I found if we could make him eat more slowly there was less chance of him bringing it back up . To make him eat more slowly I divide each meal in half, & also use a special bowl which has ' bumps' in it so that also slows him down. He has not vomited his food up since we started doing this - over a year ago. Sometimes I add plain boiled rice to his food , he really can't tolerate much else.



    The bowls can be found at most pet stores.
