I hope so, Dolly. I just saw the most horrible story on the news right now. This girl was walking her dog and this man started towards her. Her dog ran ahead of her and intercepted the man. He grabbed the dog and proceeded to beat the dog to death. I couldn't have stood there and watched. Nothing could have stopped me from trying to save my dog. How could someone do that?! There has be a special place in hell for these a-holes!

Im on your side Jennie. I believe if we have good heart for animals .. Somehow God will provide them kindness ..

That is the problem, especially with the sad state of today's economy. I have a friend who runs a volunteer group that I'm a part of. She's been trying to get me to write grants, etc. to fund my project but I've tried to tell her that now is the wrong time for that. I was watching Ellen and she had this woman who runs a pit bulls and convicts rescue. She's had to refinance her house over and over because she is having a helluva time trying to fund it. I haven't given up, but I know that today is the wrong time. The time will come though. I'm confident of that.

Hey you guys, looks like we all have the same dream, building a shelter or sanctuary. But it seems almost impossible without proper funding and easily accessible location where volunteers can come help out. So many shelters are in trouble right now, and I have friends who are really struggling to feed their animals.

I like your plans though, Jennie & SS0123, I'm rooting for you!

Dolly, If I get that kind of money to start a project like this, I'll hire you. My friend tells me I should write grants to get the money, but I think I'll have to wait until the economy improves. No one wants to give up a penny right now. I've already got a plan though. I'd buy enough land to build some houses on and I'd hire a vet that would live on premises. He could even have his own practice so long as he provided services to the shelter. I'd need caretakers to help with the animals.

Jennie, pls let me know if you start your project .. I would really love to volunteer :)

natnatnatnat, I haven't tried those sites. I will definitely go on those sites though! Thanks for letting me know. Oh, and Dolly, that picture is even sadder than the rabbit one. SS0123, I want to do the same thing. I already have a name for my rescue and a plan on how to continue funding it. All I need is the initial cash outlay.

no i have never been to the site but I support PETA and most organizations that rescue the pets .. Actually, the best I can do even tho its not around the world is that I always feed the stray dog wherever I see them and they seem to love me a lot .. you know? Animals know that who is nice to them and who is not ... They have hearts as well as human beings ...

Dolly, it sure is heart breaking. I hate animal testing. I've seen some photos that just break my heart. Have you ever been to the animal rescue site? I click every day and the sponsors donate a half a bowl of food daily. That and my aspca donations are my little part to helping animals. I so wish I could come into a boatload of money. I'd open a rescue. When I open it, come work for me. We'll help animals together. I want to open Dogtown II.

Its so sad to accept but it happens alla time .. even the cosmetics we are using .. some have been tasted by animals ... awww so heart breaking ...

I will definitely look up your story, natnatnatnat. And, DollyDiva, you're right. Animals are just innocent victims. It breaks my heart when I hear a sad story about animal abuse or neglect.
