I'm Tired of *celebrities* Acting Out!!

I totally agree with you that in away many things, racist or not, get completely out of control, because the media takes things, often out of context, and because all they want is high ratings, which really means money, they take stupid things, FOCUS ON THEM, and  it ends up becoming a media frenzy, with each station anti upping whatever the topic is and continually focusing on the worst contestant on American Idol to the top etc….. or even about the dogs that are dying CRAP, instead of dealing with the serious issues and forcing people to start remembering what we, as a society, must NEVER forget, or you are absolutely correct that the countries, based on *freedom* are going to explode. I’m tired about hearing of the death of Anna Nicole Smith, hearing about who is the father of her child, Donald Trump’s feud with Rosie O’Donnell, Howard’s Sterns quest to vote from whatever brand of dog food that ended up being tainted somehow with rat poisoning ( I even own a dog but could careless after hearing which brand of dog food it was). I often, if I get the chance, will watch about the first 20min. of The View when they have their *hot topics* discussion. A few days ago they got into a heated debate, which they often do, about the war in Iraq. Rosie is completely against it and is furious about the Patriot Act, that essentially allows George Bush to be a dictator, and impinge at will, without having to tell anyone, about things like how he decided to tap and record even *regular* citizen’s  phone calls, all under the guise of they *could* be terrorists. Also he’s has made it against the law for the media to show in ANY way the coffin’s if the dead soldier’s returning home to their families. Rosie O’Donnell started saying she was completely ill even with the dog story, because during the length that the media spent on that story 109 American Soldiers were killed in Iraq and that got zero time on the media. Anyway like you I feel that both our countries, probably yours first, are going to end up exploding while George Bush invades and occupies Countries forcing them to be Democratic. What a joke!!   With regards to *nappie* I have heard the term before, and there is a reality that black women’s hair texturally is very different from the texture of white women’s hair. I have never used the word *nappie*, because if I don’t know if the term is considered offensive I just won’t use it. At for the term *hoe* well it is SO completely obvious that it is just a shorter word for *******, so if ANYONE ever referred to me as a *hoe* or as a ******* they would have a HUGE battle on their hands!!     Regardless of all of this crap, Iams got a slap on the wrist and now essentially has a 2 week vacation. If the United States doesn’t start taking these offensive comments that are said in public more seriously this type of crap will continue and more then likely escalate. These words may not be seen as offensive to everyone but even if they are deemed inappropriate, racist, sexist, homophobic etc. then I think they should be seriously taken as hate crimes and remind everyone that behind these words, if continually allowed, will most likely turn into physical altercations. What is the so called Democratic Society doing, while they force their political opinions and democracies down other people’s Countries and cultures that they don’t even seem to educate themselves on, before they start a war with the *Shock and Awe* approach. How Democratic is that? OK I’ll stop ranting, and please remember that this is simply my opinion. omg tell me about it! this post def wins for longest ep story i've ever read, but also one of the best. it's all so true! i love it.

This is one of the longest stories I've seen on EP. Congratulations! Everything you wrote was very very true. The whole "celebrity" idea makes me vomit, because all it is is encouraging people to do stupid stunts for attention and feeding people bad information and influences so they grow up to be drug addicted, drunk, stupid, ditzy, worthless. Argh!!! Anyway, I loved your ranting!
