I'm Not the Only One?

I can't believe there are actually other people that experience the same feelings I do when I hear chewing noises! I work in a pharmacy of all places and my coworkers are constantly snacking (yes IN the pharmacy) and I just want to run away!!! It's horrible because I have no escape!!! I can't just walk off the job, and I can't wear headphones because I have to be able to hear and help patients and answer phones. I usually carry a pair of ear plugs with me, but if I'm standing near someone that is chewing, I can often still hear the noises. There's one particular pharmacist that I work with, and he literally eats one thing after another ALL day. I get a sinking feeling whenever I see him pull out a snack. He chews loudly with his mouth open. The worst part is that he's a really rude guy. If I asked him to please stop chewing and explain that it really bothers me, he wont, he just completely ignores me. I cannot even perform my job smoothly when I have to deal with the chewing. I feel so much rage and irritation. I sincerely want to rip my hair out and scream! I think of walking off the job, but I know I can't afford to loose my job. I'm not really sure what to do at this point...

I can hardly believe eating is allowed in a pharmacy, while the staff are on duty! Don't they get a lunch break? I hate chewing noises too, and it's especially irritating when people talk with their mouths full of food, which I imagine also happens where you work.
