Killer On the Road

I used to drive under the influence, I don't anymore.  In fact, I don't drink at all.  I've seen the toll up close.  It's so incredibly pointless, destructive, and preventable.

In 2005 there were 17,000 alcohol-related automotive fatalities in America, roughly one every 30 minutes.  Compare that to 29,000 deaths by handgun.  Here in the U.S. of A we love our cars, booze, and guns - and the freedom to use 'em how the heck we want.  But does it seem like these playthings have turned us into Barbarians?

Congratulations on deciding to be kind to yourself.
