It's a real chore for me.
I remember , years ago, talking with a guy from Great Britain. He said that at the time, British public schools had quite a bit of lattitude in terms of the graduation requirements they set. Each school could determine their own requirements, with no National guidelines to be met except for two: all public schools must require Religion (Church of England) and all must require Physical Education.
His theory was that this explains why everyone in Britain is physically unfit and an atheist.

Your friend deserved the Nobel Prize for Generalisation.

Actually, it was a joke, and that line drew a big laugh. Of course it was a generalization: hyperbole is the principle which underlies a lot of humor :)
