Being Alone and Being Lonely Are Worlds Apart

There is a huge difference between being alone and being lonely, in my opinion. I can be alone and feel quite content, in fact I have times where I prefer to be alone. I can think in peace then. But being lonely is horrible.

A huge crowd of people can often contain several lonely people. Amazing how we can feel so isolated amid a group. Probably lots of nice people, potentially great friends. But nobody who understands all that ticks inside your mind right now.

I agree with this completely.
And I also hate that feeling that you get when you've been hanging out with a whole bunch of people , then you're home alone. Like that huge knot you get in your stomach. That's the worst !
It always seems like that's the time that no one answers their phone , or is able to hang out.
