Florida Really Is The Toilet Of America

Until I found this thread on this site, I thought I was the only one who felt like this. I am from Detroit and have always loved the four seasons and never had problems with any of my fellow Detroiters. For the bad rap that Detroit gets (and we DO have a crime issue here), all of my neighbors (and most strangers) are friendly and always willing to lend a hand. People here talk about Florida as if it is "The Promised Land". Well........I BEG TO DIFFER!! I took a vacation there once when I was 14 with our grandparents (who stayed winters there) and we had fun b/c we did the amusement park thing and I was too young to know any better. In 2008 I relocated there, as I needed a fresh start. Big, big and bigger mistake. First of all, the weather is unforgiving. Stifling. Suffocating. No matter how much A/C you surround yourself with, everyone must spend SOME TIME outdoors. And it is miserable. The summers in MIchigan almost kill me anymore with the humidity, so I am not sure what I was thinking. But in Michigan, I know it is temporary and a beautiful and comfortable autumn is right around the corner. I also hesitate to make this next statement b/c I hate to condemn a whole state of people at the fault of some, but..........THE PEOPLE ARE THE LOWEST FORM OF LIFE I HAVE EVER ENCOUNTERED!!! I met a disproportionate number of what seemed like inbred white trash drug addicts. I only lasted six months in Florida and high tailed it back to Detroit. THERE IS NO PLACE LIKE HOME THERE IS NOT PLACE LIKE HOME!! (That sound you hear are my heels clicking together)
