It Never Fails

whenever we had a substitute teacher in school, they always seemed to mess up my name when taking attendance. by the fourth grade i'd about had it with correcting them. my name isn't even that hard to pronounce. i suppose there's a number of different ways to pronounce it, so that's understandable, but some teachers would get so overwhelmed that they'd just read off my last name instead! or call me a completely different name that's not even close to my own, with different letters and everything. these people have teaching degrees so it really shouldn't be that difficult. plus there were always a few other people in my class with some pretty challenging names, and no one ever seemed to have any problem with those. really, i don't see what's so hard about it.

It's probably the double nn and double rr that used to throw them :-)
