I am so shy I just bug right up... I can barely call someone I know! When I hide behind a computer screen, though, I am so bubbly, blunt, and/or outgoing. I wish I could bring myself to put that to practice in real life.

    Methinks that was meant to be an insult, smedleft. And some food for thought: Were it not for responses like yours above, or the fear of receiving such, I, for one, would certainly be less afraid to approach others. Perhaps you would do well to consider the impact one's words have on others before arriving at hasty judgements.

      ACTUALLY, I was expressing that it's my experience that not only do I agree that it's hard to approach people for either purpose, but that it seem most of the people I know or have known have the same feeling. AND SO it is hard for me to believe that the species survives since the A+ #1 factor in continuing the line is...
      meeting up.
      Please don't take things in the impersonal world of online too personally, at least not at 1st, a need illustrated by the fact that I was *agreeing* with you by rule of hyperbole.
