I used to run cross-country and got in amazing shape but I got injured and slowly but surely started gaining weight. I feel gross and fat but I can't exercise without making my knees hurt. I went up 2 sizes but my thighs still look like fat hams. I don't know what to do.

Swimming! It's the most physically challenging sport but it's the easiest on your joints.
