What is the point of a family that brings you more distress than joy?

There is no point, I had to move to the other side of the world. It was hard, but you know what? I've never been happier. If they are so hurtful that if they weren't your family you'd have nothing to do with them, just leave. They don't deserve you.

We learn the most from those that pi.ss us of the most. Then we won't be like them. Just then do worse things that makes it even worse.
You to you is your most important relationship.
Then get into hobbies that bring you joy - run/swim/tennis/yoga get into activities that you can use up all your energy.
Over time then forgive them and the situation that caused this stress.
Quote for you:
Be gentle with yourself.
If you will not be your own unconditional friend, who will be?
If you are playing an opponent and you are also opposing yourself-you are going to be outnumbered. Dan Millman

In the case of most families-- some exceptions-- they'll pay off. Unless you're in a legitimately dysfunctional family, I'm sure you're only going through a rough patch. You'll sneer about this post.
