I Can't Stand Them

All of a sudden I realized that I can't stand the people I call friends. They have no personalities and just follow each other. They're annoying and immature and need to grow up. All they do is gossip and whine. I feel like I'm only around them to be ignored until they need to talk. It's summer so I don't have to be around them, but I still have to see them next year.

I realized that my only real friends are two people that I've known for 9 years and 10 years, and I'm fine with just hanging out with them.

I completely understand. I realised that the people I was calling friends, I was just using so I wasn't alone.
If you're fine just hanging out with your two best friends, why not do just that? If your 'friends' are all shallow and whiny, then when you do either fall out with them or leave them, they'll simply talk about you behind your back for a week then move onto something else.

By which time, you'll be a lot happier with your two true friends, and you won't care what they think of you. If I was in your situation, this is what I would do.
Good luck, and I hope you have a good year ahead of you!
