I Dislike Being Not Appreciated At All

I do not hate my job per se.. I hate the fact that there is no structure to my organization and that I am made responsible for duties that were never explicitly or implicitly assigned.. Seems like I am the only one who works at my job.. everyone comes there sits around and earns their pay... this is not my perception, but indeed reality.. and the funny part is my boss expects me to do more! I have a 4 page job description and I am not kidding!!! If things do not change rapidly, I am going to be burned out and totally useless..

I'm sorry hon . I understand completely.. I work at a home for individuals living with autism and other developmental disabilities... where we teach or try to teach them how to live independently. Not always the case. I have worked day in day out for a year trying to teach a client how to feed himself. For 20 years someone has always done it for him so I figured I would take initiative and help him learn to feed himself! I am always cleaning cooking doing laundry running after everyone's clients busting my butt while they are buried in Facebook or Netflix land... they get a check as well for my hard work! Well all my hard work recently paid off and my client FINALLY FEEDS HIMSELF! I am so proud of the accomplishments... My manager told her boss that she had been working with him and that it was all thanks to her! I was crushed! Beyond upset! Day in and day out I fed him then I had him try on his own. I got hit scratched hair ripped out the whole nine! I never gave up on him and for someone else to take credit kills me. Lucky enough the entire staff made a special shout out at a staff meeting praising be for never giving up on him when others did to avoid aggression or a behavior. Needless to say it's the little things we do that we don't get credit for. I Appreciate someone that works hard! So I appreciate you!

Something that Mother Teresa said:

People are illogical, unreasonable, and self-centered.
Love them anyway.

If you do good, people will accuse you of selfish ulterior motives.
Do good anyway.

If you are successful, you will win false friends and true enemies.
Succeed anyway.

The good you do today will be forgotten tomorrow.
Do good anyway.

Honesty and frankness make you vulnerable.
Be honest and frank anyway.

The biggest men and women with the biggest ideas can be shot down by the smallest men and women with the smallest minds.
Think big anyway.

People favor underdogs but follow only top dogs.
Fight for a few underdogs anyway.

What you spend years building may be destroyed overnight.
Build anyway.

People really need help but may attack you if you do help them.
Help people anyway.

Give the world the best you have and you'll get kicked in the teeth.
Give the world the best you have anyway.

Lately, I'm learning that most companies in the United States are cutting back staff and therefore over working the ones left behind. Thereby, causing burnout and emotional pain. Hope you can find a balance. good luck....

Exactly. And those who are left take it because we do not want to lose our necessities.

Wow,

I understand a lot of your problem.
Recently the job description has greatly increased for me. I shopped around for about 6 months and found three different companies that will call me to work daily, mon. through fri. on per diem basis.
I now have time to read, study, go to school and rest as needed and I am bring in twice what came in before.

This makes me so much happier and energetic that I am getting a little more work done and keeping the quality top notch.
Think about a different arrangement of your expertise and imaginative ways of offering yourself to employers.
