You're a thoughtful DIL. I would buy her something that you know that she wants. My MIL will flat out ask for a Christmas gift costing $400 or more. If she is not the type to tell you what she wants guess and make sure it isn't cheap. Good luck

Yes I've given flowers in nice vases before. Doubt i would waste Waterford on someone like my inlaws. They wouldn't have a clue anyway. but flowers are a good go to gift

Depending on the amount you want to spend...My favorite gift that I would LOVE to receive myself...is...a beautiful Waterford Crystal Vase...size should be according to the size of bouquet of flowers you get her to go in it as well. In other words a large Waterford Crystal vase like I had given to my mil over the years also included a large beautiful bouquet to fit into it. Its basically 2 beautiful gifts in one! You cant go wrong with flowers or crystal. Its rather a no brainer. Be Well...Def....:)

no matter how much thought you put into this gift , later she will find a way to use it to heap ridicule onto you. If she has a hobby , gift baskets can be done for a modest price and dressed up to look like a million. And the gifts inside are also useful. giftbaskets can also incorporate lots of small gifts if this event is for more than one person in the household.
