I think that at some point, I must have enjoyed peas. Otherwise, my parents wouldn't have served them once a week for 18 years. The oldest of three boys, it was me that somehow communicated that peas were great before being able to speak. Think about it...once a week FOR EIGHTEEN YEARS!
Is that not Effing ridiculous? I didn't even think about it until now...that equates to 934 servings of the loathsome veggie. Texture sucks. Taste is worse.
I probably would have been able to overcome my distaste...my hate...for peas were it not for my father, at the time a pretty strict disciplinarian who insisted that the thee of us ate every last pea. At that point, my mind had been made up.
I haven't eaten peas on my own, ever. My significant other loves peas, but she knows not to offer me any...
