Stay Away From Tx!!!!!

I moved to TX 4 years ago from the East Coast - 4 freakin LONG years ago. I have to got to get the hec outta here!!! I had some family move down here - they're "Christian" and are right at home in the bible belt but I'm just me and let me tell you Texas is not the place to think differently from the pack. Being "Christian" is the norm here - I have nothing against true christians except they are real hard to come by in Texas. Here almost everyone I've met so far goes to church every Sunday - but it seems that 90% of them go to church for appearances! Because they're "supposed to" or are expected to not because they really want to or actually live a "Christian" lifestyle out side of church. All these same folks that go to church every Sunday and are supposed "christians" are the same folks you'll find half naked in clubs every weekend. You think there's southern hospitality but again - all for appearances - it's hard to come by "real" people in this state that have any kind of loyalty towards others - they gossip about eachother and stab eachother in the back constantly to get ahead then they smile in eachothers face the next day then wonder why such and such isn't really smiling back anymore - really???? They live WAY beyond their means (very materialistic- think Dallas Divas and Daughters - hello!!!) and  definitely don't accept folks as they are (as Christ would) - God hates gays? Really?? That's the way to bring people to church? Preaching hate? I've heard a million times that TX ranks in the bottom in healthcare including mental health and I believe it!!! This is so true - being here is depressing - eveyrone's either depressed and oppresed and it shows!!! Also people here are freakin HUGE because all there is to do is eat, drink and shop!!!!! I've never seen so many of the same stores within just a few miles of eachother!!! They're predominatly Republican mostly because of their "Christian beliefs" (and trust I have no problems with real Republicans - ya know the ones that aren't Republicans solely based off religious beliefs or because they're racist and/or hate Obama, etc... Remember those? I know it seems like a distant memory especially if you live in Texas). Yet despite lots of these folks claiming to base their politics on religious beliefs - ya know they're so "Christian" -  they're against things that would help themselves and others!!!! Like Healthcare Reform (which this state so desparately needs). They  think Obama is the devil (and I'm not saying he's perfect - trust not the deal at all) but SERIOUSLY!!!!!! They dislike him to the point that they refuse to let children watch him address their children in school YET they're OK with the State of TX re-writing history and disgracing their schools and doing their children a HUGE disservice by allowing them to teach this mess in schools!!! Where were all these people when the real devil - George Bush- was RUINING our Country for 8 years???? This is crazy!!!! I guess the one good thing is that I've become more politically active and aware of what's going on around me since I've moved here - I totally took for granted the normalcy of living in more liberal states - where folks can discuss their views and be open to point of views they might not have considered as opposed to just accuse another person of being wrong or worse unamerican or unpatriotic if they don't agree with your views. I moved here because the cost of living is much lower than living in NY, MA or RI - but the peace of mind that comes from being in a normal, cultured environment is worth whatever it takes. I can go on and on seriously - I've heard people say that Texans are stupid but I think the fact of the matter is that they are ignorant and uneducated about the world outside of Texas - many of the folks I've met have never been outside of Texas!!!!!! Good Lord!!! Could you imagine? Yuck!!! Anyways the bottom line is that if you're an ignorant redneck, racist, materialistic, insecure and/or fake Christian you will likely be very happy living here - but if you're the least bit educated about the world around you , can appreciate other cultures, good food, like learning from others, thinking outside the box and dont' necessarily think not going to church everyday or week doesn't make you any less better than anyone else then DON'T MOVE HERE - RUN - RUN NOW! I intend on making 2010 my last year in TX - whatever you decide Good Luck- you'll definitely need it if you move to Texas. PEACE!

dallass is hell on earth, if Satan has a summer house it's in dallas no doubt -no beaches, horrific weather, barely there sunshine (they think that's real sunshine, how pathetic) everyone there is mad all the time and jealous all of the time and they all mistakenly think they live in the greatest place on earth because they’ve been brainwashed by the tex-*** shool system into believing that horse ****, also 90% of the people in that God forsaken state have never left their own state and continue to bash any other place that isn’t tex-*** on every single online forum but they just sound like ignorant little rats compared to the rest of the world which are majestic stallions and dobermans, they also seriously think they have the hottest women in the country (they don’t, I didn’t see a single 10, 9 or even 8 during the THREE years I lived in dallas, I’m originally from LA and also lived in New York, Orange County and Anaheim and those places have gorgeous 10s by the dozens but everyone in dallas and the entire state of tex-*** is a jealous, fat, horribly aging, ticking disaster and even if they aren’t redneck on the outside they are redneck on the inside, they are all two faced and incredibly rude, petty, passive aggressive and pathetic found that out the hard way. They also have absolutely nothing to do over there so they just gossip about other people all day long every single day from the time they’re born all throughout their meaningless lives unless the day they die. Also native tex-*** people age terribly none of them look decent after the age of 25 (must be something in the water), 5 of THE FATTEST cities out of the top 10 fattest cities in the entire US are located in tex-*** because there is literally nothing to do there but eat and stay inside, it’s boiling hot in the summers to the point where plants outside burn to death, in the winter it ******* SNOWS in dallass did you know that? Their horrible death- air in the major tex-*** cities are some of the most polluted in the entire country they're in the top 10 most polluted out of all of the cities in the entire country (look it up on the American lug associations air pollution prevention website "stateoftheair") and the people there are so angry and miserable all of the time that they will go out of their way to try to make everyone else around them miserable, I won’t even take a flight that flies over that God forsaken state, I’ll take two connections and pay extra $1,000 just to avoid that place if I have to, don’t ever go there it is literally hell on earth.
It’s why Lamar odom screwed them over and left that God forsaken state wearing a Lakers Champion shirt haha! He and Khloe couldn’t state that place after living in the golden coast. He stated that people were literally yelling things at him and being unbelievably rude to him from the seats and that has to be some offensive **** because ball players get heckled all the time but in tex-*** they will go out of their way to make anyone successful, rich, beautiful, or happy miserable because their minds are really ****** up and they don’t know any better. They really are petty enough that if you dress LA in the streets of dallass they are so ignorant that they will accuse you of being a prostitue because no one in dallass knows what sexiness means, since there are no 8, 9 or 10s in tex-*** whenever they see an LA 7 or a New York 10 they just immediately follow her around screaming “prostitute!!!” "****!!!" or *****!!!"
They’re that close minded still in 2013. They are blind and will forever be blind.
They are hideous on the inside therefore that manifests into texans being hideous on the outside, they're literally ALL ugly on the inside and outside. After living there for THREE years I can state that as a well researched and observed fact.

Their lives from birth to death only consist of: eating, working, buying food, going to their ****** state fair, eating, gossiping about other people, being jealous, being fat, being bitter, being miserable, being filled with hate, being jealous, eating more, getting fatter and even more jealous of anyone and everyone who is not a miserable texas rat, working to make money to buy more food, talking **** about everyone around them when their mouths aren't crammed with food, ********, sleeping, eating, staying inside, talking ****, go to church pretend to be Christian and then talk more **** later that day, brainwashing their kids into believing that's a normal fulfilling life, make up untrue rumors about people they are jealous of and spread them around, brainwashing their residents into believing texass is really the greatest state when in reality it's the cancer of america (I have been to/lived in more than half of the states in the U.S. in the last 20 years and trust me texass is the worst, I wish it would just be erased and swallowed up by the neighboring states, maybe then they could become remotely civilized) and then they eat some more, stay ignorant, eat some more, sleep... repeated over and over again. That's all there is to do there.

Avoid tex-*** at all costs if you aren’t from there, ever watch that family guy episode where the griffins move there and then it’s absolutely backwards and chaotic? Well that’s EXACTLY what tex-*** is still like in the 21st century, under the facade they put on that they are a developed state with “big cities” even dallass, austin and houston are still redneck as hell, some parts like fort worth look like a 3rd world country shat it out and the people there look like zombies that have lost the will to exist they look like the walking dead there is no life or vibrant youthfulness to texans they all look miserable all the time and why wouldn't they be? They're stuck in texass, it doesn’t matter if they have internet and cable their minds are forever redneck therefore they ARE forever redneck. Avoid that place at all costs, it not worth the mind rape! Also be happy that they mistakenly think they live in the greatest state in the country (it keeps them from infecting the really good parts of the country, which I’m not going to name just in case some tex-*** rats read this and get inspired to move then they won’t know where I’m talking about :)
Don’t believe that tex-*** rats are ugly on the inside and outside? Imagine a bunch of lab rats that have been bred and raised in a dark cage with no light whatsoever and it's damp, gloomy, and miserable however the cage has told these rats that they live in the greatest cage on earth so they believe it while they rat in the cage, in the dark, in the gloom, in the godforsaken, cursed state of texass, serious public service announcement avoid tex-*** at all costs if you’re not from there!

(What's so funny is they think God has blessed their state, oh yeah? Then why is there so much air pollution in all of your major cities? So many twins being born in certain cities due to chemical runoffs from factories, dirty-dirty faucet water coming out of your taps, in your bathtubs, in your homes! In all of your homes! Air pollution has now, just a week ago, been proven to be a real cause of lung cancer!!! That's right, that is your karma, choke on your own filthy air and die a slow miserable death you texass rats while us BEAUTIFUL, REAL PEOPLE (HUMAN BEINGS) LIVE IN THE REAL WORLD!)
texas rats aren't good enough to be the scum under the feet of civilized human beings. choke on your own air you HATEFUL, ENVY-FILLED, DARK, GODLESS rats.

Jaybeetx I also answered your other rant about Tx. Remember, Texas has it's good and bad just like any state. I am a native Texan. I never realized it was a bible going type state. But hey, I grew up in Houston. Where it was more of a leniant relaxed type city. You had never stated if you even tried to travel in other areas of Texas. Or, did you just stay in that podunk town and complain of the negative? I have lived in different places and even once lived in Germany. I will share my experience there. When I lived there for 4 years. I choose to go on bus tours with strangers and travel. I choose to learn German. I choose to learn their history and have fun.

While the other women on my base whined and complained. Oh boo hoo me. I can't stand Germany they said. Yet, they never once stepped outside the box. Yeah they chose to just whine and sit at home and get fat on chips. You see where I am getting at. Only the ignorant assume an entire state or country is one way. That is like saying all people in Paris are snobs.

You had also said if your racist you will fit in Tx. In Texas, that is where you see a lot of interacial couples. So I don't see how you think the entire state is racist.
Oh ,and by the way I voted for Obama.

I've lived in North Texas (Frisco/Plano area) for just over a year and I hate it! We moved here for a job and thought we did our research, but were we ever wrong! We've lived in several areas of the country and North Texas is an awful place to be. The summers are unbearable, the taxes are high and the people are not friendly. While I believe in God, these Jesus freaks jam it down your throat any chance they can get. Don't let the "yes mam" and "yes, sir" fool you, I've never met so many rude people in one place before! Texans drive like ****, their accents make them sound ignorant and they're just a bunch of self-absorbed idiots. I look forward to leaving Texas as soon as possible and never setting foot in this God foresaken place again!

There's an outward gaudiness about religion here. Bible sleeves on iPhones. Bibles on desks at work. Bible verses on sticky-notes posted everywhere. Crosses hanging around necks and rear view mirrors. Bible sc<x>ripture's in almost every nursery school and pre-school curriculum. There's a recurring meeting at work for fellowship and prayer during business hours. If you're not asked, "What church do you belong to?" within the first five minutes of meeting someone, "God", "Savior", "Lord", or my personal favorite, "He", "Him" or "His" will be used in conversation to imply the question. Someone carved the word "God" into the wet cement of a sidewalk in our neighborhood. If you think this all sounds great, there's more than enough to go around. If you think your spiritual beliefs are your own personal business to be brought up and discussed with discretion, be prepared for some awkward moments. I don’t have anything against Christians, just hypocrites and racists, which most of the Texas Christians I’ve met so far seem to be.

i am a christian but don't go to church due to the hypocracy. i had to laugh at your comment because it is so true!!!! eeew!!! i joke that if i want to open a business here i should just call it "Bible" whatever, and it would be a huge success. "Bible Cleaners", "Bible Bowl", "Bible Skate" - you get the picture....sure wish i knew what the Lord really thinks of people like this....I can't pretend to know, but I'd wager he can't be too happy with such awfulness wrapped in a "christian" wrapper.

Wow! I can't believe I found this blog. I've been secretly hating Texas for the last few years or since I moved here anyway. I moved from the beautiful New England area, and for those Texans who don't know anything about the rest of the country they live in that's the Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, and Massachusetts states. I've found so many reasons to hate Texas that I'm trying hard to find reasons to like it here. I like the warm winters.... Thinking.... Thinking.... Sorry that's all I have. Here's my list of hates.<br />
<br />
1. Idiot drivers<br />
2. Press 1 for Spanish and 2 for English.. need I say more<br />
3. The heat<br />
4. It smells<br />
5. Concrete everywhere<br />
6. People everywhere<br />
7. Nothing to do except shop, drink, and eat<br />
8. It's flat and I live in Austin<br />
9. The crime<br />
10. It's ugly<br />
<br />
If your thinking of moving here Don't! It's not cheaper, there are not more jobs, the heat is not worth a warm winter especially when it cost 600.00 to cool. There is tons of crime. I would not let my kids walk alone here. People are rude (me first attitude). I could go on and on.

Totally agreed with everything you said. I lived in Texas for seven years, and I know what you're talking about.

Texass is a good state to be from........

I agree with blahblah. I have a few job interviews set up for the week I will be back home in KY. June 6-10, I have been hoping and prying for this day for a few years now. For me, it is not a desire to move to a progressive city. I prefer to leave the pollution, smog, heat, humidity, and the evils of Big Oil behind here in Houston. I prefer a small town and this is definitely not one, but that is a small portion of why we NEED to leave. I also have intrusive and divisive in-laws here, them coupled with the lack of culture and aforementioned issues are too much for a marriage and family to handle. It will all be over soon, this summer. I just need to find a renter or buyer for this house soon, they seem to still be moving here somehow

I am a 5th generation Texan on both sides of my family and got the h*ll out as soon as I could - even quitting high school to move to NYC. Out of ~50+ family members on both sides of my family, I'm 1 of 2 who live outside a 150 mile radius in East Texas, and the only one who doesn't think Texas is the center of the universe. Yes, it does make me a bit envious when people back there can buy a 4000 SF home with a pool on 5 acres for what I paid for my 1400 SF townhouse, but then I remember where they are and I would happily pay twice as much to even to live in a 300 SF studio apartment in my progressive West Coast city! Save your money and get out of there as soon as you possibly can! I'm sure many people find that their depression clears up as soon as they see the state line in their rear view mirror. (Well, after they get through some of the other horrid neighboring states, anyway....)

Peregrin, the people here are truly a different breed. If you need to move here for work to get on your feet, you have to do what you have to do. Just make sure that you have an escape plan and keep it short so that you do not go insane. <br />
<br />
There are some pretty places here, Fredericksburg in central TX is one of them but overall it is terrible here. There is a certain arrogance that emanates from native Texans, a certain rebel aura that exists even today i.e. recent talks of secession. <br />
<br />
Some places may be close to livable. Central TX and Austin are okay (I use the term OK loosely. Austin is a really weird place, but it is the only city in this state that is close to being livable). I do not know much about Dallas or Ft Worth, but Houston has ruined the entire state for me. There are refineries/chemical plants that would rather pay fines than comply with EPA regulations. Tap water is not safe to drink; lithium and some radioactive metals were recently found in our water supply, and the worst air quality in the US is right here. The cancer raate of this part of the Gulf Coast is higher than anywhere else in the US. <br />
<br />
There is no mass transit system here because this is Big Oil central, they want people here to keep buying SUVs and trucks whether they are needed or not so that more of their product is used. It is a legal cartel and they dominate the economy and politics of the vast majority of the state.<br />
<br />
Add extreme humidity, constant threat of hurricanes, and ridiculous heat to the pollution and the summers here are pure Hell. This is the rectal sphincter of the world, everybody into their status and what the Jones' have. I am going to relieve myself on the TX/LA state line when I finally get to leave

'anonymous' are u jus going around insulting people? using profanity? u're embarrasing urself and ur beloved texas. its difficult to think positively of texas if folks like u keep opening ur mouth

wow guys. I haven't worked in almost two years and just got a job offer from Tx which I was seriously considering. Thanks for the warning. You reminded me of something I already knew but had forgotten.

I have been here for 5 1/2 very long years. Me moving away is going to be a little more complicated though; I have a son in elementary school and a wife who is not from here but calls this her home. I finish my degree next year and will add a few certifications to supplement that and then I plan to get back to open roads, clean air and water. Houston is a good place to make a living, but a terrible place to live. Traffic, pollution, big oil, I hate it all. I have a plan in motion to leave but I have to finish school and get my money right first. Wish me luck on getting back to KY, I will do the same for you. I pray daily that I will not crack here and will be able to achieve my goal, it helps greatly. You should try the same

Agreed, agreed, agreed! I grew up on the East coast too. I've been here ever so long, and I'm just not cut out for it.

I live in Texas, and quite frankly, I'm insulted. it's silly to take the problems of your social circles and apply them to the entire state; I'm none of those things, and I'm proud of my home. And before anyone asks, I've been to California, Georgia, Italy, Japan... But I guess haters gonna hate.

"I moved here because the cost of living is much lower than living in NY, MA or RI - but the peace of mind that comes from being in a normal, cultured environment is worth whatever it takes."<br />
<br />
I absolutely agree. I moved from California where it's expensive to live-- and now I see why, to this awful place. I would rather be broke in California than a millionaire in Texas. I'm getting a degree, then back to the west coast as fast as I can go.<br />
<br />
P.S. Anyone who is proud of Texas, I've found-- has never been anywhere else. All they know is ugly.

"That's BS. I've been all over the world, very well educated and successful. How idiots like you think you can make blanket statements about everyone from a certain area is beyond me."

Hah! how funny? you have been to places? tell me where and share with me your experience, I have been to most of North America, Most of europe including british isle, i've been to asia, south east asia, my job and my lifestyle requires me. and i am here in east texas (work), most unfortunate and am trying to get outta here.

a typical texan usually will insult the person they dun like instead of objectively counter or refute the argument.

And 'anonymous' you sound like a person with loads of BS opinion and yet no rational logic; hence, your hostile stance of personally attacking 'california casual'

being here in texas for 6 months allows me to spot a Texan very easily, they have alot of undesireable personal characteristics, mainly - ignorant, arrogant, false wisdom, hypocritical religiousity, conceited, dogmatic, and simply unpleasant.

Thus said, I do not discount the fact that there are some really nice Texan around, they're just really really really rare.

I am from Gemany by the way.

Well I live in Canada I don’t know much about American polities but I was glad to see that health care reform go through. Cheers!
