Wasted Time And Money

I live in a remote region and nothing is close by. Yesterday I made an hour and a half drive to buy cigars from my favorite smoke shop. When I got there the doors were locked.  They've always been open 7 days a week, and when I was there last there was nothing posted about them intending to be closing on Sundays.  Yes, I was upset. A week prior I went to mail a package at the local post office a few miles away. I arrived at 2pm and the door was locked. When I read their signage they'd changed their business hours from 8am to 5pm to 9:30 am to 11am. Yes, I was upset. So I drove 16 miles to the next nearest town which was also closed, their sign said they were now open only between 11am and noon. Yes, I was upset. I'm not so upset that they've cut back their hours but am upset that they gave no prior notice. I hate wasting my time and money when it's totally unnecessary.

Sorry, but do you call to see if the local gas station is open before you drive there for a fill up when your tank is near empty? I don't, and I'd bet you don't either. My point exactly. If I frequent a business I expect them to give me prior notice of a change in hours or policy.

Call and check before trip

Thank you:)

Thank you, I enjoyed your blog!

This post inspired my blog. :)

I love being remote, but hate making plans to take care of several things in one trip only to have those plans backfire ending in a wasted trip.

Everything requires a drive when you live in a remote location. A few weeks ago I had to drive to two different towns trying to find a FEDEX office. It's annoying when you are trying to get something done but other than that I love being away from it all.
