Count Me Out

W hen other people are around our house or I'm living with other people, everybody seems to want to feel a sense of entitlement but they don't want to do the work for that sense of entitlement. Instead, I get stuck with the load of what they want to accomplish.

For instance, my husband and I are living with my sister-in-law (his sister) and her husband. They always have company over and we always have to put up a happy face when his brother-in-law's family come over when all they do is get drunk when they come over. When they reach their limit, almost any and everything is coming out of their mouth - offensive or not. All we have to do is sit back and take it because we don't want to step on any toes.

Anyway, like right now everybody's drinking and I don't really feel like it. So, I'm just sitting here on my computer in a bedroom by myself so my sister-in-law's step-daughter has her infant baby with her but she wants to drink, too and her boyfriend (and baby daddy) may or may not be drinking and they don't want to watch the baby. They come in to me to watch the baby but I'm online and minding my business so I don't want to and I shouldn't have to.

Now, the problem is that if I would have told my husband this, he'd say I would give people the wrong message. WTF? I mean, who gives a rat's *** what they think? I don't owe anyone anything and I didn't have the baby so why can't I live my life. Just because they don't want to do it doesn't mean that I have to. I'm tired of being what everybody wants me to be and getting along when others don't think so.If those closest to you make you feel like this, what else is there to your life, ya know? People will never understand unless it was happening to them.
