You are so right. I have known for a long time that Philly people are really unfriendly. Drivers blow their horns often. In my area in Bucks County, it's not rare to see someone go through the red light. I think the people are truly unhappy here and that's why they usually look and act so miserable. Not sure why, but many seem to be bothered by the cold winters, yet few seem to want to leave. The only thing good about my area is that there is very little crime and almost no serious or violent crime. Does not make up for all I hate about it here. The people I can ignore but the other negative things I can't. No wonder no one ever says "I want to live in Philadelphia", except possibly those who live not far away in a small rural town and just want a few (very few actually) job opportunities. In fact, I think the only people who want to live anywhere in PA are those who already live here and could not adjust to another location.

I have a similar story to yours. I had the insight to not have any kids here or do anything to root myself here. Looking for others who hate where they are and are planning to go to as close as possible to a shangri-la especially those from the Philly area. I was raised in Philly way back when and I thought it was nice then, and I had many friends because as a kid, I was thrown in with neighbors, classmates, etc. Looking back that far, I never actually found it very friendly here and I do hate the cold and raw winters.
