recent read was "Troublesome Young Men" by Lynne Olson, its the story of the politics behind Churchills rise to power during the second world war, not so much about churchill but the other tory rebels who worked to topple chamberlain and stop nazi appeasement by the british government.

"Life of Pi" by Yan Martel

"nineteen eighty four" by George Orwell

"shake hands with the devil" by Romeo Dallaire..some of the story behind genocide in rwanda.

"mmmm cookies" by robert munsch (my 2 year old loves this book)
