Mine is in navy bootcamp (which I think is shorter than it is for marines) (navy is 2 months) but honestly I'm one week away from seeing my boyfriend graduate from bootcamp and it is the best feeling ever it is so worth waiting. This whole experience could better both of your lives, stick it out trust me. I look at my friends arguing w their boyfriends n I'm like really? Id do anything to have mine here n I would nottt he arguing w him. It either makes or breaks the relationship but the fact that your on here seeking help and info means your in it for the long run. Be strong babygirl.. Message anyone on here anytime.. Iv received nothing but good advice and encouragement from the ladies on here. Don't by shy, no judgements ever allowed on this website. You need ppl who understand what your going through and many ppl on here do... Good luck, you two will be just fine you just wait and see!

I still have a few more months until he leaves. He leaves July 8th. I have been soaking up every minute I can to be with him and his family. When he leaves me and his mom have a date to go hiking and cry together lol... I am so proud of what he wants and what he wants to do for our country but sometimes I feel so selfish when I have thoughts of not wanting him to join. And I shouldn't even be worried because he hasn't even left yet and there are girls like you who don't even have their boyfriends, finances, or husbands with them. But he truly is the love of my life, my very best friend. But what you say about your friends and their boyfriends fighting, I understand that. We never fight, I know fights happen but having the upcoming events has made me realize time with him is so precious and they should be happy moments, not sad. I have a friend who's fiancé is a marine in basic and right after he graduates they are getting married. I know many military couples get married young but that can't be me and Seth's case. He is going to VMI after basic, and in that college they aren't allowed to be married or have children. He'll be there for 4 years, which I guess is fine for me because it gives me time to finish my degree but he enlisted for 8, and he wants to re-enlist after the 8 are up. I'm not giving up on him and I'm accepting this life as mine, I wouldn't ever want anyone else but him, I just wish things would be easier. While he's in VMI I will on see him one weekend a month for the first year. So I have a long time of not really seeing him up ahead for me. Sorry for the long rant! It was a lot to explain! But thank you so much for the support! I know I will need it. His mom understands because his father was in the navy but others would never really understand what it's like. I think we are all very tough girls. Proud of our men, and some cases, women:)

Hi, my soldier left 2 weeks ago. I have gotten a call and a letter, so i am lucky, but i honestly feel like i am so lost. I am 17, and we know that we are going to get married one day. It may sound naiive, but you know the feeling of true love... I don't know anyone at all who would understand. DO you have any advice on how to cope?
