I feel sorry for what happend to you.Sometimes I feel the same u know,everywhere u go u can meet judgmental people who thinks in stereotypical way.I think u should give Ep another chance,remember Ep is not only for Western people.It's open place for anyone who wants to join.

Westerners or not, there are different kinds of people so..I am careful when deciding to associate with people. I realize that I am rather sensitive so as soon as someone strike me with a surprise unpleasantness, I just comment lightly and back off. It works for me. Otherwise, I generally act/talk/write to people with care. Amit, breathe in and breathe out this stressor you feel.

I have made severa friends recently...not friends now...but they all complained about the unfriendliness of others towards them. It seemed others did not bother to speak with them, or feel close to them. They all said they were very friendly people, who accepted just about everyone. The thing is...I looked at their profiles, and they either did not respond to anyone leaving comments on their stories. You don't have to respond to everyone, every time, but a general pattern of "thank you," at least would show some gratitude that people actually took the time to read your story and comment. Or...they discriminately responded to very few, here and there. The same people when responding to messages, would write a one sentence answer, and show no interest in my life or me whatsoever. And these are the people who call themselves "friendly."

I'm not saying this is you. What I am saying is it's worthwhile taking a better look at your own behaviour and attitude first. See if there is something in you that maybe repelling others or show indifference to you.

Oh, and those new friends are no longer friends because I found they were not the friendly people they portrayed themselves to be, and you know, they will probably lump me in with all the others that dismissed them, and they will think it is others, and not their own self that is the problem. Be well.

EP is a wonderful place to be. It's not reasonable or rational to assume all western people think all the Asian or Indian people have a false mask here. That isn't true. I'm a western man and have many Asian and Indian friends. I also know many western people who also do. In my experience, I have found Asians and Indians to be many of the most decent and respectful people I've ever known. You can choose your circle of friends here at EP and you can also block undesirables here at EP.



I'm sorry you feel the way you do. There's no need to tarnish all western people with the same brush. I know most Western people will care and respect you here and outside of EP.



The individual or individuals that may be responsible for the way you feel are a minority and just happen to be western. We are not all the same!

I'm so sorry that this has been your experience here. The circle of people we include as friends can make all the difference. I have been lucky enough to find a great circle of open minded and compassionate people who would never be so insensitive.



The Q&A section is best used only by people who have thick skin, because some people do like to be a bit insensitive in order to be clever. Please don't take it personally. An anonymous venue brings out the worst in some people, it seems. Just a part of human nature, I guess.

I have seen the questions about the false mask and that stupid stuff, but if I were you I wouldn't give a damn about it! There are thousands of members on EP, if few of them asked such stupid questions why should I be so bothered? It doesn't mean that all EPers/westerners think the same or could even ask such questions! I'm far from being a westerner, in fact I'm the exact opposite lol, but I do realize that we don't have to blame everything on them, you know why? because I so hate it when people generalize some kind of acts and expect me to be like this or that once they know from where I am, so why should we act like them? Right now you are acting exactly like the people who asked the question, they generalized that Indians on EP are so and so, and you are generalizing that all westerners are acting this dumb! - If I was to act like you, believe me I would have left EP from the first day because since they first day I have seen such stupid questions and comments about my race or whatever but who are they to get me to leave?

Well I for one happen to have a lot of time for asian people and , after reading some of your stuff , you strike me as a thoughtful and compassionate young man.

Not all westerners are insensitive idiots , maybe you are being a little hasty ?
