Breast cancer, gynecological cancer, mental illness awareness, heart association, child sexual abuse awareness, domestic violence awareness, animal rescue, pre-natal care for all women regardless of economic standing, Alzheimer's, and elder abuse awareness are the main ones.

FUNGIRL'S EDIT MARCH 1, 2009:

Lacey asked me to add some items about my charities. I am adding more information on websites you can go to in order to help as well. I will add more data later as well. Feel free to add any of yours as well.

BREAST CANCER AWARENESS:

www.avonwalk.org

For 2 days and 39 miles, you have the opportunity to dramatically impact the lives of millions affected by breast cancer worldwide. I will be participating in October but it is held at different times in different cities. Go to the web site for more information.

http://ww5.komen.org

I am sure most of you know what the Komen foundation does but in case you don’t check out this website.

GYNECOLOGICAL CANCER

http://www.thegcf.org

Ovarian, cervical, and uterine cancers are known as the gynecological cancers. This foundation is all about prevention of these cancers and looking for a cure for those who already have it.

HEART

http://www.americanheart.org

This I the National health agency whose mission is to reduce disability and death from cardiovascular diseases and stroke. Take a look at their site for opportunities to help.

CHILD SEXUAL ABUSE AWARENESS

http://www.safechild.org/childabuse1.htm

The National site for assistance to parents that suspect child abuse. I work with my local child abuse groups but this one will get you to where you need to go

Thanks Chris and I hope you get your wish. I used to help with the Special Olympics and it was very rewarding.

Thanks ladies for your contributions! I hope that, although our financial situations aren't what they were before, that we will find ways to help ALL of these worthy organizations as they do some great work.

thanks fungirl im proud of you!

Also - I support the Colo-Rectal Cancer Foundation
http://fightcolorectalcancer.org/ .. I have had 4 family members die from this and many others with tumors, etc. There are certain genetic markers in families and all of our children could be exposed. There is a test and screenings that everyone could take. If you visit their website - PLEASE sign the petition that would allow Americans access to all that need this test -

Thank you both for putting this out there! All of these are reputable foundations and causes, and I am so glad to see that you support the mental health awareness. There are so many people in America that do not understand this.

I support the United Cerebral Palsy Association. It is a very worthy cause - I have a niece with CP.
Thank you again for getting this out there.

OK Lacey. I added some to my story and I will add more after while.
